The social Service staff of Columbus Manor is made up of highly qualified social workers with Bachelors and Masters Degrees who are dedicated to the wellbeing of all clients we service. We provide the case management for chronically mentally ill residents in a nursing home setting. Each resident and situation is unique.
We provide groups that are tailored to the needs of our clients that include:
-
Anger and conflict management
-
Human sexuality
-
Crime and consequences
-
ADL and Transitional Living
-
Community readiness (which prepares the client for reintegration back in to the community)
Clients who are dually diagnosed with both Mental Illness and Substance abuse receive specialized programming from our partner, Gateway. Classes are held in the facility 4 times per week.
At Columbus Manor, we work closely with outside, day treatment programs and also consider referrals as we encourage residents to to meet new people and participate in groups out in the community. The social service department of Columbus Manor is dedicated to not only servicing the client but also the family. We feel that family counseling and involvement is an integral part of recovery. Social Work services are available 7 days a week.
